100% cotton Scarf-Sarong made in India with the block-painting/printing technique, ancient and famous procedure used all over the world, especially in India, China and Japan, performed both on paper and fabrics such as linen, cotton and silk.
This method involves the use of wooden blocks – usually pear and boxwood – carved with small gouges creating different designs, only to be subsequently covered with ink and then used for printing. This system is very slow, yes, but it gives rise to a clearly beautiful and evocative effects.
