Triscele o Triskell si trova comunemente nell’arte del tardo periodo Celtico e si pensa abbia influenze Romane, nonostante altri importanti esemplari di Trischele ci siano anche nell’arte nativa Irlandese e Scozzese. Si crede che rappresenti i tre regni delle credenze popolari Celtiche: il Passato, il Presente ed il Futuro. E’ uno dei più popolari ed antichi simboli Celtici, ed è sopravvissuto al periodo del Cristianesimo probabilmente poiché può essere facilmente associato anche alla rappresentazione della Santissima Trinità.

The Triskele or Triskelion can be commonly found in late Celtic art and is thought to have some Roman influence, although fine examples are found in the native art of Ireland and Scotland. It is believed to represent the three realms of the Celtic lore: the past, the present and the future. One of the most popular ancient Celtic designs, the Triskelion survived well into the Christian period, probably because it could also be considered to represent the Holy Trinity.
