Divinità ripresa dagli Aztechi dalla cultura Tolteca , fu poi adottata anche dai Maya. La sua funzione era quella di far muovere il Sole nel cielo, per questo la sua importanza diventò assoluta ed a lui vennero innalzati immensi sacrifici.

Circle-shaped Stud Earrings hand-painted using enamels to depict Tonatiuh, the Aztec God of the Sun.
They are lastly covered with a protective hypoallergenic resin.
This deity has been taken from the Toltec culture and then adopted also by the Mayas. Tonatiuh’s function was to move the sun in the sky and its importance became so absolute that immense sacrifices were made for it.
Aretes en forma de círculo, pintado a mano usando esmaltes para representar Tonatiuh, Dios del Sol y simbolo principal del calendario Azteca – Piedra del Sol -.
Por último, se recubren con una resina protectora hipoalergénica.
El Dios es el creador del Sol y de la Tierra, reconstituyente del Universo, del Cielo y del Tiempo. Es siempre representado con la lengua en forma de cuchillo y fuera, a simbolizar su sed de sacrificios.
