Delizioso piccolo Ga’u apribile in argento e vermeil, prezioso esempio della raffinata arte tibetana.
La piccola scatola dalla forma inconsueta reca sul fronte, intagliato nel turchese e con occhi di rubino, corona di lapislazzuli e collana in smeraldi con corallo rosso, Chhepu, figura leggendaria della tradizione buddista.
All’interno, completamente attorniato da piccoli cabochon di corallo rosso, è posto Ganesh, altra importante divinità. Sul retro, realizzato a sbalzo su una piccola piastrina in vermeil, si trova un piccolo dorje con turchese, pietra che ritroviamo assieme al corallo tutto attorno al bordo del pendente, completando così la già raffinata creazione.
Chhepu – Essere mitologico e Divinità Buddista custode e guardiana della valle di Katmandù, Chhepu è considerata una creatura molto coraggiosa e per questo la sua immagine è esposta al di sopra dell’ingresso di templi e santuari; si ritiene sia una protezione da tutti i pericoli, dagli spiriti e dalle anime malvagie, che terrorizzi i nemici e difenda dai ‘Naga’, i serpenti di cui si ciba.

Delightful small Ga’u in silver and vermeil, precious example of the fine Tibetan arts. The small box features an unusual shape has on the front – carved in turquoise with ruby eyes, a crown of lapis lazuli and a necklace with emeralds and red corals – Chhepu, legendary figure of the Buddhist tradition.
On the inside of the pendant, completely surrounded by small cabochon red corals, has been placed Ganesh , other important deity. On the back, embossed on a small plate in vermeil, there is a small Dorje with turquoise, stone that we find once again all around the edge of the pendant together with the red coral, thus completing this already refined creation.
Chhepu – Mythological being and Buddhist keeper and guardian deity of the valley of Katmandu, Chhepu is considered a very brave creature and therefore its image is displayed above the entrance of temples and shrines. It is believed to be a protection against all dangers, spirits and evil souls; it has the ability to terrorize the enemies and defends people against the ‘Nagas’, the snakes he feeds on.
