Pendant depicting an Ethiopian cross, carved in sterling silver.
The Ethiopian crosses generally take their name from the cities or the provinces of the Plateau. They are realized with the technique of the lost wax, and often are derived from one of the thalers of Maria Theresa. They can be either Greek or Latin, or show some influences from the Celtic culture and the Lower/Higher Egypt. They are worn by Ethiopian Christians as a testimony of their faith.
