Figura di primo piano nella tradizione Nativa del sud-ovest, le corn-maiden, fanciulle di grano, sono simbolo di fertilità e prosperità, per i Pueblo anche di felicità, dato che la loro origine è legata alla pannocchia di grano, alimento base del popolo delle pianure.
Il dettaglio degli occhi è in turchese, con particolari un diaspro e onice.
